Moose on the Loose

FTC Team 38291 Moose on the Loose is a rookie FIRST Tech Challenge team, established in 2026 and heading into its first competition season in 2026–2027.

About Moose on the Loose

Moose on the Loose is Beaverworx's second FIRST Tech Challenge team, established in 2026 alongside KitBotz. Its first competition season is 2026–2027, and the team is building its robot, its approach, and its maroon-and-wood identity from the ground up.

The team designs, builds, and competes independently, with its own robot and its own results. Like every Beaverworx team, it draws on shared mentors, facilities, and resources, working next to FTC Team 38290 KitBotz and FRC Team 2609 throughout the season.

FIRST Tech Challenge

Moose on the Loose competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge, a program from FIRST where teams of students in grades 7–12 design, build, program, and drive robots to take on a new game every season.

FTC robots are smaller than FRC's and built from a reusable kit, which makes it a more accessible way into competitive robotics, while still giving students real engineering, coding, and teamwork experience, guided by adult coaches and mentors.

How a season works

  1. 1A brand-new game is revealed each September, and teams start designing from day one.
  2. 2Students build their robot from a reusable kit of parts and program it in graphical blocks or Java.
  3. 3At events, teams join alliances with other teams for head-to-head matches, with an autonomous period followed by driver control.
  4. 4Judges also recognize teams for their engineering process, team branding, fundraising, and community outreach, not just match results.
  5. 5The season ends with regional championships and the FIRST Championship.
